I'm a huge fan of strawberries in my smoothies, as you may have guessed from some of my other recipes: strawberry banana smoothie; strawberry pina colada smoothie; strawberry smoothie. I especially love to use fresh strawberries when they are in season. However, this smoothie combines the sweetness of strawberries with tart raspberry flavor for a delicious strawberry raspberry smoothie you'll love.

This raspberry strawberry smoothie is one of our low-calorie smoothie recipes. If you're looking to gain weight, be sure to check out our high-calorie smoothies for recipes and tips.

    💭 Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some questions (and answers!) readers often ask about this recipe.

    Are strawberries good for you?

Strawberries are loaded with vitamin C, antioxidants, and fiber so they're a great source of nutrition.

    Are raspberries good for you?

Raspberries are often considered to be a power food because of their nutritional benefits. They're rich in fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamin C.

    ⭐ Ang's Tips

✔️ I love using fresh berries when they are in season. Otherwise, frozen berries work just as well.

    Storage

Fruit smoothies are best enjoyed when you first make them. However, you can use any leftover smoothie to make ice pops. You can also pour leftovers into an ice cube tray and freeze it. Transfer the frozen smoothie cubes to a freezer bag and label. These frozen cubes can be used to make future smoothies instead of using ice or frozen fruit.

    📖 Variations

The first time you try any new recipe we recommend that you make it just as it is written on the recipe card since that is how the recipe has been tested. However, the next time you make our recipe, you might want to try one of these ideas:

    • The banana helps to thicken the smoothie. If you don't care for bananas, simply skip them or yogurt. You can also replace it with avocado, applesauce, cottage cheese, or silken tofu.
    • You can use any milk or milk substitute you prefer including oat milk, cashew milk, almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk, coconut water, etc.
    • If you prefer, substitute orange juice or apple juice in place of the milk.
    • Sometimes store-bought berries are not very sweet. If you want to add a little sweetness, my favorite sweeteners are agave nectar, honey, or maple syrup. Start with one tablespoon, taste, then add more if needed.
    • You can use fresh fruit and ice cubes or for a thicker smoothie, use frozen fruit.
    • Add a scoop of your favorite protein powder or a tablespoon or two of chia seeds for extra protein.

Be sure to also check out our 4-ingredient simple raspberry smoothie.

    Strawberry Raspberry Smoothie Bowl

To make a smoothie bowl instead, you want a thicker smoothie base. Reduce the liquid by half. You can also add a little bit of almond butter or peanut butter to the smoothie mixture. Greek yogurt is a great addition also.

Top the bowl with more fresh berries and other fruits, along with granola, nuts, or seeds as desired, and enjoy immediately.
