    Best Smoothie Bowl Toppings

I think the toppings are the fun part of making a smoothie bowl! Here are some of my favorite delicious toppings to add to my smoothie bowl:

    • Fresh Fruit: apricots, kiwi, bananas, strawberries, apples, raspberries, peaches, blueberries, plums, nectarines, figs, mango
    • Seeds: sunflower, chia, pumpkin (pepitas), hemp, flax
    • Nuts: almonds, pistachios, macadamia, walnuts, pecans
    • Butters: peanut, cashew, almond, chocolate hazelnut, pumpkin, apple
    • Other Stuff: mini chocolate chips, cocoa powder, yogurt, coconut

How can I add more nutrition to my smoothie bowl?

There are so many great healthy ingredients you can add to make the perfect smoothie bowl for you and your family.

Consider mixing in protein powder or chia seeds for protein and extra energy.

Nut butters contain healthy fats, specifically omega-3 fatty acids. They also help fill you up, which is great if your goal is weight loss. Consider adding hemp seeds or pumpkin seeds to the top of your smoothie bowl.

    Superfoods

Superfoods are a great source of fiber, vitamins, fatty acids, minerals, and antioxidants and, therefore, are considered to have many health benefits. Because these foods are nutritionally dense, they are an essential part of a healthy diet. They are commonly considered to help prevent disease, too. Here are some superfoods you can add to your smoothie bowls:

    • acai berries and goji berries
    • leafy greens like kale and spinach
    • aloe vera
    • avocado
    • cacao nibs and dark chocolate
    • hemp seeds and flax seeds
    • cinnamon
    • coconut oil
    • turmeric
    • wheatgrass

You can also add other special ingredients like bee pollen granules, nutritional yeast, and matcha powder.
