Square collage image with text overlay: elevate any meal with restaurant-worthy flavored butter.

Flavored butter is a game-changer in the kitchen, adding a burst of delicious flavor to any dish. It’s a simple way to elevate your cooking without fancy ingredients, tools, or years of culinary school.

Plus, it’s super easy to make and keeps well in the fridge or freezer for whenever you need it.

    Tips for Making Flavored Butters

I typically use unsalted butter, unless the recipe specifically calls for salted butter. This allows me to control the saltiness.

For salted butter, I like (I like Cabor Extra Creamy Sea Salted Butter for this).

The type of butter is really important. Start with high-quality butter for the best results. In no particular order, I like Kerrygold Pure Irish Unsalted Butter, Land O' Lakes European Style Super Premium Unsalted Butter, and Vermont Creamery Rich and Creamy Cultured Unsalted Butter.

Always use fresh ingredients like herbs, spices, and citrus zest to enhance the flavors.

    How to Make Flavored Butter

    1. Start with room temperature butter and mix well with spices and herbs. Sweet butters usually include a sweetener like honey, maple syrup, or brown sugar, and sometimes fruit. Often savory butters include other ingredients like lemon, shallots, cheese, or sun-dried tomatoes.
    2. Once combined, place the butter mixture onto a piece of parchment paper or wax paper. Roll the butter up into a log and twist the ends like a piece of candy. Alternatively, you can use a rubber spatula to transfer the mixture to a small bowl.
    3. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
