This coffee sugar scrub is the perfect morning pick-me-up for your skin, and it makes a fabulous gift, too!

Homemade Coffee Sugar Scrub in a jar.
This DIY coffee scrub is a cinch to make and is perfect for any coffee lover on your gift list!

I don't know about you, but I've got a couple of coffee lovers on my gift list this year. I could always pick up a pound of Dunkin Donuts coffee to shove in their stockings, but this sugar scrub is so much better.

Not only does this sugar scrub smell amazing, but it's great for sloughing off dead skin cells.

It couldn't be easier with just three ingredients you may already have in your house:

    • granulated sugar
    • ground coffee beans
    • Clear Soft Soap, or similar
    • 4oz mason jar

    Instructions

    1. In a small bowl, whisk together the white sugar and ground coffee.
    2. Add about a ¼ inch of soap to the bottom of the jar and pour the sugar mixture in.
    3. Stir in a little bit more soap until the sugar is completely incorporated and the mixture is a nice consistency – not too thick, and not runny.

How do you store homemade body scrub?

This coffee sugar scrub should be stored in an airtight container. Mason jars work great!

How to use coffee sugar scrub

While I'm not a coffee drinker, I do love the smell of coffee in the morning. Using this homemade coffee scrub is a great way to get your mind and body ready for the day!

    1. Wet your skin with warm water.
    2. Apply a small about of the DIY scrub to your skin and massage in a circular motion.
    3. Rinse.

    That's it! Easy-peasy.

NOTE: I do not recommend using this on sensitive skin or on your face.

    Variations

    • Add ¼ teaspoon of vitamin E oil, which helps moisturize and can minimize scars.
    • For a blend of scents, add a few drops of orange or peppermint essential oils, both of which pair beautifully with the rich coffee scent.

I made this today and it smells so good! My daughter has a birthday this week and loves coffee and sugar scrubs, so I had to make it for her! Is it supposed to be lumpy or smooth? I may have it too smooth, it isn't runny, but not real thick either. But, it is great for a gift and she will love it. Just don't know if I should add more sugar?
