I love making my own DIY Beauty products at home. You can save so much money, and you know exactly what's going into them.

This time of year, I make a lot of DIY sugar scrubs for friends, neighbors, and teachers to give during the holiday season. Small jars are the perfect gift to let someone know that I'm thinking of them.

This recipe makes 16oz of Gingerbread Sugar Scrub, you can pick up inexpensive 4oz plastic jars and you'll have four little homemade gifts in no time.

    ✂️ Supplies Needed

Here's how easy it is to make your own Gingerbread Scrub in just 10 minutes! Makes: 16 oz.

    • White Sugar
    • Brown Sugar
    • Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
    • Vanilla Extract
    • Cinnamon

    📝Instructions

This is meant to be a brief overview of this homemade sugar scrub. For step-by-step instructions and a full printable tutorial with materials, please scroll down to the teal box below.

    1. Combine dry ingredients in a medium mixing bowl.
    2. Add coconut oil and vanilla extract to dry mixture.
    3. Stir well with a wooden spoon.
    4. Store in a sealed mason jar at room temperature. (You can really use any type of airtight container).

Add a pretty ribbon and you've got a lovely homemade gift!

Our recipe is easily doubled or tripled if you have lots of stockings to fill or people on your gift list. You will have about 2 cups of body scrub, or 16 ounces. For smaller stocking stuffers, I use 4oz jars.

This easy homemade gingerbread sugar scrub also makes a nice addition to any bath and beauty gift basket.

How to Use a Body Scrub

Wet your skin with warm water then put a little bit of the body scrub into the palm of your hand. Exfoliate dead skin cells by gently massaging the scrub in a circular motion on your wet skin. I recommend staying away from your face, however.

This is a great way to help hydrate dry winter skin. You can follow up with some Homemade Whipped Body Butter, too.

Is they something you can use in place of the coconut oil? I’m allergic to coconut but I would still love to try this sugar scrub.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you could use in place of coconut oil.
