  • 2 3.4-ounce boxes instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 16-ounce tub whipped topping such as Cool Whip, divided

    1 16-ounce tub whipped topping

Notes

Variations
  • Get creative with different Oreo cookie flavors. Mint, Peanut Butter, Birthday Cake, and Golden Oreo cookies would all taste great in this easy no-bake dessert.
  • For chocolate lovers, substitute chocolate pudding for the vanilla pudding.
  • Make it extra decadent with a drizzle of caramel sauce or chocolate syrup on top.
  • Instead of making a large pan, add the creamy and crunchy layers to individual cups.
Here are a few fun ways to customize your Oreo dirt cake for different occasions:

Storage
To Store: Leftover Oreo Dirt Cake should be stored in the refrigerator. Top it with a layer of plastic wrap and it will stay fresh for about 3-4 days.

Ang's Recipe Tips
  • Crush it. You can use a food processor to crush the Oreo cookies but don't pulverize them into dust. You can also place the cookies into a zip-top bag and use a rolling pin to crush them.
  • Soften it. Soften the cream cheese before you begin. The simplest way is to place it on the countertop for about 30-45 minutes before you plan to use it. You can cut down on that time a little bit if you cut it into even slices. I don't recommend microwaving cream cheese to soften it because it won't soften evenly, and it's easy to melt the cream cheese by accident.
  • Don't over-mix. Overmixing will cause the whipped topping to deflate and the pudding to become tough. Use a rubber spatula to carefully fold the pudding and whipped topping together.
  • Chill out. Allow the Oreo dirt cake to chill in the fridge for 3-4 hours for the flavors to all come together. My personal favorite is the second day when the Oreo crumbs start to soften into the creamy pudding mixture.
