These Twine Wrapped Bottle Vases are a super cute and easy up-cycled craft!
Hi there, Juggling Act Mama readers! It's Katie from View From The Fridge back this month with an easy upcycle project just in time for Valentine's Day ... and then {hopefully soon} Spring! I love easy DIY projects like this Succulent Wreath from fellow contributor Natalie.
Well, a couple of days before Christmas this year, my husband and I decided to do the Whole30 diet (it's a long story as to why we started before New Years and even before Christmas, but I'll spare you the details for now). Because you can't drink wine (or any other alcohol), and no sweetened or artificially sweetened drinks, we drank a lot of San Pellegrino. A lot. Because plain ol' water got boring fast (at least for me).
Why am I telling you all of this?!?! Well ... that pile of empty San Pellegrino bottles was piling up, and they were just begging for a new life. Enter ....Twine Wrapped Bottle Vases:
You could totally change up the colors of the flowers depending on your decor or color scheme, but these happen to be perfect for Valentine's Day!
SUPPLIES
Here's what you'll need:
- Empty San Pellegrino bottle, wine bottle, or and other glass bottle.
- Jute Twine (I found mine craft store where the floral/wreath making supplies are)
- Strips of burlap in multiple colors (I used a combination of pink, dark pink, and cream for these). If you don't have burlap, or want to go with another color, any fabric will work for these rosettes.
- A hot glue gun (a very well used hot glue gun in my case)
PROCESS
- Simply hot glue the end of the twine to the bottom of the bottle. Give the glue a minute or two to take hold, then simply start wrapping that twine around the bottle, working your way up to the top. And because I'm
lazyefficient, you don't even need to remove the labels ... just cover 'em up as you go!
- When you get to the top, simply hot glue the end in place to secure. As you can see ... covering the neck of the bottle gets a bit tricky, but there's no need to be perfect:
- Now ... my favorite part: making the rosettes. Take your strips of burlap, and quickly and easily make these flowers:
- Get out your glue gun again, and simply glue each flower on with a small drop of glue.
- Add flowers (tulips are my all time fave):
And you're done! An easy upcycle that can either go with your neutral decor (add all cream flowers instead), or can add a pop of color for Valentine's Day, Easter, and eventually ... Spring (yay)!!

Hi, I'm planning on doing the same but am wondering how much rope twine to purchase. Do you know approx how much is needed per wine bottle? I see a good price on Amazon for 200ft rolls, but I'll have several bottles on several tables and don't know how many rolls I should get.

The amount of twine really depends on the size of the bottle. I would guess that 200ft will be plenty. If it were me, I'd purchase 1 roll.
