Hi friends, It’s Natalie from Doodlecraft sharing the perfect wooden family sign.  Everyone in your home is sure to love these fun Summer Rules!  My kids were thrilled seeing my rules posted...these are all the things they are excited about too.

Summertime is the most wonderful time of the year in our home.  We like to go camping each Summer by the nearby lake.  Sneaking out at night to lay on the beach and look at the stars is my favorite.  The stars are so bright when everything is dark.  Another favorite Summertime activity is eating Popsicles on the patio.

Make a Wooden Family Sign to hang in your home, set in the entryway, hang out on the patio, or on a colorful bookshelf.  Use the Cricut Maker to cut the vinyl and this craft takes 15 minutes or less. These rules are sure to please everyone in your home!

This project is especially fast--like Lightning fast!  Quick crafts are my favorite...and the best ones are using the Cricut Maker.  Check out this post for 100 fun Cricut Crafting ideas.

How to Make Wooden Family Sign

    1. Start by painting the board with acrylic craft paint.  Set it aside and let it dry completely.

    2. Next place vinyl on cutting mat and cut the project design with the Cricut Maker.  It's simple to customize the CDS project with rules for your family.  Just add text using the Cricut Sans font and stretch them to 10 inches across.  Could add things like "Look at the Stars", "Roast Marshmallows", "Play in the Ocean", or "Explore the city"...what phrase would you add?

    3. Then remove the vinyl from the mat and weed out the excess vinyl.

    4. Now carefully place transfer tape over the top of the vinyl.  Smooth it down with a squeegee.

    5. Next turn the vinyl over and remove the white backing paper from the vinyl.

    6. Then place the vinyl on the dried wood board.  Smooth down the letters with a squeegee.

    7. Next peel off the transfer tape by rolling the tape over the top of itself.
