There's something so special about sitting around a fire pit toasting marshmallows and sandwiching them with chocolate bars and crunchy graham crackers. It's wholesome old fashion fun - and delicious, too!

This s'mores skillet dip recipe is so simple to make, but it's got that wow factor. I mean, let's face it, s'mores where you don't have to deal with sticks and smoke? That's a winner in my book!

Now, these aren't just ordinary smores... oh no, we've taken these to the next level with a drizzle of caramel and pecans. It's optional, but why not?

    🧂Ingredients

Most of these things you probably already have in your pantry. I like adding pecans because they add a depth of flavor you can't get any other way. Feel free to omit them if you wish.

    • Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
    • Marshmallows
    • Caramel Sauce (optional)
    • Pecans (optional)

This is meant to be a brief overview of the easy smores dip recipe. For step-by-step instructions and a full printable recipe card with ingredients, please scroll down to the teal box below or Jump to Recipe.

    🔪Instructions

Grab a bag of marshmallows and chocolate chips and get ready for a ton of fun!

    1. Place the cast iron pan in the oven to get very hot.
    2. Meanwhile, use the scissors to cut the marshmallows in half.
    3. When the pan is extremely hot, remove from the oven and pour the chocolate chips into the bottom of the pan.
    4. Spread the chocolate evenly.
    5. Quickly add the marshmallows to the top of the chocolate.
    6. Set the skillet under the broiler for just a moment or two - keep a close eye on it!
    7. Remove from the oven and garnish as desired (I like them with caramel sauce and toasted pecans.)

    Cast Iron Skillet Replacement Ideas

If you don't have a cast-iron skillet, you can still make this incredible dip! Just make this in your favorite baking dish or pie plate. Round cake also pans work like a charm!

Your favorite campfire treat in a delicious dip form is the perfect dessert for your next party!

This is such a fun dessert for kids and adults alike. Imagine making these for a sleepover or family movie night?!? You could even do small cast iron skillets so everyone has their own. Oh my, you would be the mom of the year for sure - after all, who doesn't love s'mores?!

    Recipe Variations

Now the sky's the limit when it comes to what other toppings you can add to this fun s'mores dip!

I added pecans because I adore the earthy saltiness to break up the richness of the chocolate and marshmallows. Try walnuts too, it is delightful! Or, you can skip the nuts altogether and mix in sea salt caramels, or butterscotch chips.

Here are some other variation ideas:

    • Use a combination of mini marshmallows with large marshmallows if you like, or even try flavored marshmallows.
    • Swap out some or all of the semisweet chocolate chips for peanut butter chips or dark chocolate chips.

    Serving Suggestions

My easy dip is perfect for game day parties, sleepovers, or a backyard camp out.  Since this is such a rich dessert, serve it when you have people to share it with. Just a few bites did me and Mr. Juggling Act in. It's so sweet - and oh so good.

Serve it with graham crackers, of course, but try different varieties like honey, cinnamon sugar, or even chocolate. I like it with Ritz crackers or pretzel crisps. I wouldn't say no to trying some potato chips either. The salty-sweet combo is SO good! Vanilla wafers, graham cracker sticks, peanut butter cookies, and even fresh fruit like apple slices are also delicious.
