    • 1 ½ cups Epsom salts
    • Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple mica powder

Note: you can add essential oils to this mixture as well if you like. Personally, I love lavender for relaxation and citrus essential oil blends for rejuvenation.

Tips for Making Rainbow Bath Salts

    • You can add 10-20 drops of your favorite essential oil to each bowl, or a combination of harmonious oils. Be sure to stir these in well. By adding liquid, you may find you want to add a bit more mica powder to keep the vibrant colors.
    • For more muted colors, use ¼ teaspoon of mica powder instead of ½ teaspoon.
    • If your bath salts are clumping, you can spread them on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes in a 200-degree F oven. Then you can make a funnel with parchment paper to add the salts to your jar.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can you use food coloring to make rainbow bath salts?

Yes. I prefer mica powder because it is natural and easier to blend, but a high-quality gel food coloring would also give you good results.

Which salt is best for your bath?

Epsom salt is my favorite thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, but you could also use Himalayan salt, sea salt, or kosher salt. Each has benefits!

How do you use bath salts?

Run a warm bath and add about 1 cup of rainbow epsom bath salts. Relax and enjoy your bath!
