Pumpkin Carving and Decorating with Pumpkin Masters

Pumpkin Carving and Decorating couldn't be easier with Pumpkin Masters. Plan fun and safe Halloween fun for the whole family.

Pumpkin Carving and Decorating with Pumpkin Masters

#ad - This post has been sponsored by Pumpkin Masters, however, as always, all opinions are my own.

I'll be honest with you, when it comes to Halloween decorating, I usually leave the pumpkin carving to Mr. Juggling Act.  I'm not a big fan of the mess, or the fuss, that goes into carving pumpkins. I love picking out pumpkins with the kids and using them to decorate the porch alongside mums.  This year, I decided it's time to be a big girl and try carving a pumpkin on my own.

Pumpkin Masters has TONS of products to making decorating and carving pumpkins a breeze including:

    • Carving Kits
    • Kids Carving & Decorating Kits including Sticker Kits
    • Pumpkin Carving Pattern Books
    • Pumpkin Power Tools
    • Lighting
    • Decorating Kits
    • Pumpkin Carving Accessories

I started off slow and easy by helping the kids remove stickers from the Pumpkin Masters Kids Carving and Decorating Sticker Kit, pictured below.

They had the best time making funny faces on their pumpkins. Some of the stickers were a bit tricky to remove from the backing, so I recommend an older child or adult to help.

Once we had decorated our small pumpkins, it was time to get started on carving the big ones.  Armed with lots of tools from Pumpkin Masters, I rolled up my sleeves and got to work.  Now to be honest, I used the Kids Carving Kit, pictured below. Olivia, 4, chose the ghost design and we got to work together.

The tools are very easy to use.  I used the cutting tool and together, with help from Mr. Juggling Act, we scooped out the insides, separating the seeds to roast later. Then we taped and traced the pattern. Olivia lost interest, but I persevered on until I had cut out the adorable ghost, with only one minor error.  My favorite part is adding the cute eyeballs, which Olivia came back over to help me with.

I also made this other design, chosen by Ethan, and only got a little tricked up by the tongue area.  While Olivia said these eyes were too 'scary' - I think they make the design.

Mr. Juggling Act decided the tackle the more challenging Decorating Punches Pumpkin Tool Kit. This one is much more time consuming and you need to be sure to scoop out the inside of the pumpkin, essentially carving the inside down to just a ¼" thickness so that the punches will work correctly.

This one being more time consuming, and the last one of the day, we opted to just do one side of the pumpkin. It looks really, really cool.  If we'd had a bit more time and energy, I'd have loved to tried another of the patterns.
