Our Kauai Sunset Cruise was the most incredible experience! We would definitely do the Na Pali sunset cruise again in a heartbeat.

When we were planning our Hawaiian vacation to the beautiful island of Kauai, we knew wanted to get out onto the ocean. Since we were staying on the Northwest side of the island, it only made sense to book a tour that included the Na Pali coast.

    Blue Dolphin Charters

We chose Blue Dolphin Charters and were so glad we did! They offer a variety of tours including ones with snorkling or scuba diving. We chose the 4-hour Kauai sunset cruise, which Blue Dolphin calls their Na Pali Sunset Dinner Cruise.

The catamaran is perfect for touring the Na Pali Coast.

The cruise takes place on a 65′ catamaran with plenty of space for all the passengers. I loved that there was plenty of seating and room to move around. Once we got settled, the crew offered water and other beverages.

The captain and crew were very knowledgeable about not only the sea life but also the history of the island.

Na Pali is well known for it's lush towering sea cliffs, valleys and waterfalls. It is absolutely stunning! From the sea, you can really get a sense of the enormity and remoteness of the area.

Na Pali means "the cliffs," some of which are as much as 4000-feet above sea level!

Visitors can visit Na Pali Coast State Wilderness Park and hike the 11-mile Kalalau Trail, which is the only land access to the area. However, the only way to truly see the entire coast is from a boat.

The Na Pali landscape is made of huge cliffs, some as tall as 4000 feet above sea level.

During our sunset cruise, the crew pointed out famous landmarks like the are where parts of Jurassic Park were filmed. The captain told the legends about the ancient gods and goddesses, too.

Dinner was delicious! The crew served up a dinner buffet with loads of yummy foods. The kalua pork was my favorite.

After that, there's nothing to do but enjoy the sea breezes and wait for the sunset. At this point in the cruise, you're far enough out to sea that you feel like the you and the other passengers are the only people in the world.
