You are going to love this no churn Cotton Candy Ice Cream! It's a cinch to make and I love that I don't need to lug out my ice cream machine.

Homemade cotton candy ice cream starts with heavy cream, sometimes also called heavy whipping cream. I adore homemade whipped cream and this easy recipe starts with beating the cream just like that.

Honestly, I don't think there is an easier homemade ice cream recipe out there!

    🧂 Ingredients

Here are the simple ingredients you'll need to make your new favorite ice cream:

    • heavy cream
    • sweetened condensed milk
    • vanilla extract
    • cotton candy artificial flavor
    • blue and red food coloring

This is meant to be a brief overview of this great recipe. For step-by-step instructions and a full printable recipe card with ingredients, please scroll down to the teal box below.

    🔪 Instructions

    1. In a large bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, and cotton candy flavoring. Set aside.
    2. In another bowl, beat the heavy cream with a stand mixer or hand mixer until stiff peaks form.
    3. Gently fold the whipped cream into the sweetened condensed milk mixture.
    4. Divide the ice cream base into two bowls.
    5. Color one ice cream mixture with red food coloring and the other with blue food coloring.
    6. Scoop the whipped mixture into a loaf pan, alternating as you go. Cover with plastic wrap.
    7. Freeze for 3-4 hours until firm.

Note: If you prefer to make just pink or just blue cotton candy ice cream, you can do that, too.

Here is what you will need to make this easy recipe:

    • Stand Mixer or Hand Mixer
    • Liquid Measuring Cup and Measuring Spoons
    • Whisk

You can find all my favorite items for making ice cream at home here. This list includes ice cream containers with lids, my favorite ice cream scoop, and my preferred brand of vanilla extract.

    ⭐ Tips

✔️ The amount of food coloring will vary: when using gel food coloring you'll use less than liquid food coloring.

✔️ Whip the cream until the liquid is stiff enough to stand up when you pull the beater out.

    ❄️ Storage

To Store: Ice cream should be kept in an airtight container in the freezer. Homemade ice cream will last for about 2 weeks.

    📖 Variations

You can add sprinkles, dehydrated mini marshmallows, or candies to the ice cream if you like.

    🍦 Serving Suggestions

Whether you serve this in a waffle cone or a dish, it's sure to be a big hit with the kids - and the kids at heart!

No churn cotton candy ice cream is a great addition to any birthday party! The festive flavor would be great for a unicorn-themed party or even a mermaid party.
