Between the holidays, game day parties and New Year's Eve, I'm all about party food right now. Recently, I made a scrumptious Phili Steak and Cheese Bomb that were simply amazing. Today, I'm serving us these little wonders - Stuffed Pizza Rolls.

They are the perfect addition to your party menu.  They're super kid-friendly and easy to make. You can even prep them ahead of time and just leave them in the fridge until you're ready to bake them.  What could be easier than that?

    Ingredients

    • Frozen Bread Dough
    • Pizza Sauce or Tomato Sauce
    • Pepperoni Slices
    • Mozzarella Cheese Sticks
    • Butter
    • Garlic
    • Italian Spices Mix

For a list of some of my favorite items to use when cooking, please visit my Kitchen Resource page.

    Instructions

Here's how to make pepperoni pizza stuffed rolls:

    1. Preheat oven to 350-degrees F.
    2. Divide your dough into equal pieces. Each piece should be approximately the size of an egg. Roll out the dough flat, into a circle shape.
    3. Place a dollop of sauce, 2 small sections of pepperoni, and a ⅓ piece of the herbed cheese stick. Or, if you prefer, use plain mozzarella cheese sticks, and add a pinch of garlic and herb spice mix to flavor each little roll!
    4. Gather edges of the dough and pinch in the center, enveloping all the ingredients inside the dough.
    5. Place in a greased baking dish, seam side down.
    6. When all buns are assembled, brush the tops with the melted butter mixture.
    7. Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until the buns are golden brown.
    8. Serve hot with additional sauce for dipping, if desired.

    Recipe Variations

These little cheese and pepperoni bombs are a lot like a mini version of Stromboli. You can make them with a lot of different ingredients and they'll turn out super tasty. Here are some substitution ideas:

    • Use any kind of good melting cheese you like for these. Some of my favorites are gouda, fontina, gruyere, and provolone.
    • Swap out the pepperoni for prosciutto, salami or ham.
    • Make a veggie version with chopped red, orange, and yellow peppers, pitted black olives, diced red onions, and sliced mushrooms.
    • Add a little bit of Italian seasoning mix to the melted butter before brushing the top of the rolls.

    Storage

Stuffed pizza rolls should be kept in an airtight container in the fridge where they will keep for 3-4 days. Microwave them in 30-second intervals to reheat.
