Our Baked Potato Air Fryer Recipe yields a crispy skin and tender fluffy potato. Plus, it is a quicker cooking method than baking in the oven.

Jump to:
Baked potatoes make the best side dish - no dishes to wash! However, who has the time to wait for the oven to heat up and cook? That's why I like using short cuts like an air fryer.
With this method, you'll have fluffy potatoes with crispy skin in less than an hour. Of course, the total cooking time depends on the size of your potatoes.
⭐ Tips
- Start by scrubbing and drying the potatoes. Dry potatoes will result in a crispier skin.
- After that, rub a tiny bit of oil all over the potatoes - make sure you use an oil with a high-smoke point like canola or avocado.
- The internal temperature of your potatoes should be 205º F.

💭 Frequently Asked Questions

Russet potatoes - or Idaho potatoes - are the best baking potatoes because they're starchy and hold their shape while cooking.
Baking potatoes in the oven will take at least 60 minutes by the time your oven preheats, but you won't need that long in your fryer. I usually plan on 30-40 minutes.
Of course, the total time is dependent on the size of your air fryer, how big the potatoes are, and how many you are cooking at one time.
