Forget the pricy grocery store bottles! You can make your own shortcut homemade version of spicy ketchup in just 2 minutes!

❤️ Why You'll Love This Recipe

I always gravitate toward short-cut recipes. Partially because they're easy and usually have fewer ingredients than making something from scratch. Plus, there's a pretty good chance that these recipes are fast.

I love being able to make things like this spicy ketchup recipe because it's super quick but adds a little wow-factor to whatever is served up with it.

If you like spicy food, this recipe is for you! Whether you love a juicy burger with loads of ketchup or you adore dipping chicken nuggets or fries in it, it's sure to kick things up a notch!

While you may find a homemade ketchup recipe that calls for an immersion blender and a hot water bath to peel fresh tomatoes, that's not the case here. This is a super quick shortcut recipe you can make in less than 5 minutes.

    🧂 Ingredients

    📖 Variations

We recommend that you try our homemade Spicy Ketchup Recipe for the first time just as it is written for the best results because that is how the recipe has been tested.

However, the next time you make it, you might consider one of these different ways of making this great recipe.

    • Add 1 teaspoon of ground cumin or smoked paprika for smoky ketchup.
    • If you prefer your condiments on the sweeter side, add 1 teaspoon of honey or brown sugar.
    • Combine 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder to make your own balsamic ketchup.
    • For spicy chipotle ketchup, use crushed chipotle chili powder.
    • If the ketchup becomes too thick, add 1-2 teaspoons of worcestershire sauce to thin it out.

    Serving Suggestions

Whether you make this easy spicy ketchup recipe to go with hot dogs, french fries, burgers, or chicken tenders, it's sure to be a huge hit! I love it as a dipping sauce for sweet potato fries because you have both the sweet and the heat!

And, in a pinch, you can even use this spicy sauce instead of cocktail sauce.
