Curious on how to organize your home when you're surrounded by littles? I'm here to help give you some simple, practical tips that anyone can implement to organize the chaos in your own home.

Collage of images with text that reads 4 Practical Ways to Organize Your Whole Home (Even for the busiest of moms!).
Don't get overwhelmed by organization! Use these tips to help!
    PIN IT FOR LATER

Oh hey, y'all! I'm Carmen from Living Letter Home and I'm so pumped to be sharing some helpful tips with you today! I'll be the very first to admit to you that 98% of the time, our house is in total disarray.

But want to know a secret? I have lots of OCD tendencies. There. I said it. In my former life, I would have been an organizing blogger, but alas, I chose a different route.

    How to Organize Your Home

We're the proud parents of two amazing tiny humans - a nearly-4-year-old with a zest for life you wouldn't believe and a newer little 8-month-old man who is already giving me a run for my money.

In order to keep some sense of sanity in our house, I have to keep things somewhat organized, and luckily, I've been able to create a few simple techniques even as a busy mom that I want to share with you all who may feel like you just can't tame the clutter. I'm here to tell you, if I can keep things semi-corralled, you can organize your home fairly easily with these tips too!

Here are my 4 best tricks:

    1. Labels
    2. Avoid Junk Drawers
    3. Get Creative
    4. Baskets, Baskets, Baskets

Easy Tips To Organize Your Home

    Labels

Kid's clothes printables for girls inside plastic bins filled with clothing.

Never underestimate the power of labeling things. If you can't put a label on it, put a label in it. For example, when it comes to kids growing out of clothes and shoes as fast as they do, save yourself a ton of time and headache and stick a label in those bad boys to tell you the sizes.

It's helpful for future babes or even if you're wanting to store to resell or give them away in the future. I created these for both boys and girls that I use and they're a lifesaver! Get some for yourself here.

    Try to avoid "junk drawers"

Organized hair accessories in a drawer.

Mostly because junk drawers give me anxiety and it looks like a teeny, tiny hoarder lives in said drawer, but really I feel these can be avoided. What I have found to be the easiest method to avoiding them is to have divided organizers in any bigger drawer.

We actually just did these in our guest bathroom, knowing we would have a lot of "hair things" to corral. Our daughter has super long hair and so we have clips, bows, and hair ties galore.

After adding these drawer organizers in our bathroom vanity, they're all in one place.

    Be creative with small spaces

Don't have a garage like us? Don't let that stop you from having your tools organized in your home. We turned this small closet under our stairs into functional tool storage.

Speaking of small spaces, I really dreamed of a home with a giant entry or an awesome mudroom, but instead, we were working with one fraction of a tiny wall, but that didn't stop us and shouldn't stop you! Find come cute hooks and voila! It's a great way to keep things off the floor and feel a bit more organized.

    Baskets, Baskets, Baskets

I feel like we have baskets everywhere, but the reality is they're so helpful to organize your home. You can have them in any room in your house to seamlessly blend into your decor. For example, these are in our living room:

Baskets filled with toys on a console.
    Baskets in a cube organizer.

And then for our kid's rooms, we've used them both in Josiah's nursery and Charlotte's room.

The most important tip I can give you to help organize your home is to take everything in manageable chunks. If you have an entire house to organize, don't try to do it all in one day.

Maybe start with one area or room of your home. Maybe the room you spend the most time in. For us, that's for sure our living room. For you, that might be your bedroom or home office.

What about you? Do you have any tips on how to organize your home that I missed or that are crucial for you in your own family?
