Halloween chocolate cookie bars are the perfect treat when you con't want to spend all afternoon baking individual cookies.

With buttercream frosting and festive sprinkles, these tasty cookie bars are a good way to save time because they can be made a day or two ahead of your Halloween party.

    • egg
    • vanilla
    • milk

    ⭐ Ang's Tips

✔️ I recommend gel food coloring because the color is more vibrant and it won't add moisture to your buttercream.

✔️ Allow the bars to cool completely before frosting.

✔️ For clean cuts, run your knife under hot water for 30 seconds, then dry it before slicing.

    🍲 Storage

To Store: Store leftovers in an airtight container for 4-5 days.

(These are my favorite airtight containers.)

    📖 Recipe Variations

The first time you try any new recipe we recommend that you make it just as it is written on the recipe card since that is how the recipe has been tested. However, the next time you make our recipe, you might want to try one of these ideas:

    • sprinkle mini chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, or even peanut butter chips into the batter before baking
    • to make these into Halloween candy cookie bars, top with your favorite candies like reese's pieces, m&m candies, or chop up your favorite candy bars like kit kats, snickers etc.
    • look for candy eyes in your local grocery store's cake aisle for a fun 'spooky' addition

    🎉 Holiday Variations

These bars can easily be dressed up for any holiday or special occasion.

Simply change the color of the frosting and use sprinkles that match your party theme. Chocolate cookie bars are great for birthdays, graduation parties, and more. Try pastel frosting and sprinkles for Easter or a baby shower. Think pink frosting with red and white sprinkles for Valentine's day. You could even do red, white, and blue for the 4th of July. Your imagination is the limit!

    🍴 Serving Suggestions

These cookie bars would be a great addition to our Halloween snack board along with some Halloween chocolate covered strawberries, and Halloween cookies.
