If you love our Lemon Garlic Shrimp Scampi this delicious shrimp recipe.

As a mother and an experienced cook, I know that simple recipes are often the most delicious, and this Garlic Butter Shrimp recipe is no exception.

This recipe can be on the table in minutes, and it’s packed with flavor from the fresh shrimp and lemon juice! Serve over pasta for added flavor or on its own for a tasty meal or appetizer.

    Garlic Butter Shrimp Ingredients

    Ingredients

This is meant to be a brief overview of this great recipe. For step-by-step instructions and a full printable recipe card with ingredients, please scroll down to the teal box below.

    • Olive Oil - Any neutral oil will work, but I use olive oil.
    • Shrimp - Look for large shrimp. Peel and devein before starting. You can leave the tails on or take them off, depending on your preference.
    • Garlic - Fresh garlic works best in this recipe. However, if you don't have fresh garlic, use 2 teaspoons of garlic powder instead.
    • Lemon Juice - I recommend fresh lemon juice for the best flavor.
    • Butter - Since it's a star ingredient in this dish, use good quality butter.
    • Seasonings - fresh parsley, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper

    Storage

To Store: Leftover lemony garlic butter shrimp should be kept in an airtight container in the fridge where it will last 3-4 days. (These are my favorite airtight containers.)

To Reheat: Microwave individual portions in 30 second intervals until heated throughout.

    Variations

The first time you try any new recipe we recommend that you make it just as it is written on the recipe card since that is how the garlic butter shrimp recipe has been tested. However, the next time you make our recipe, you might want to try one of these ideas:

    • I'm a big fan of compound butter recipes and you could use one of those to add tons of flavor instead of plain butter. Our lemony garlic butter, garlic chive butter, or even our steak butter would be amazing with this shrimp.
    • This easy recipe can be made with leftover cowboy butter dipping sauce instead also.
