This wreath is really easy to make. It literally took me 15 minutes from start to finish. Those are truly the best kinds of crafts!

Hello, friends! It may be the middle if July, but we've still got plenty of summer left. One thing I like to change for the summer is my front door wreath.

I have been putting it off because I just couldn't decide what I wanted to create, but when I saw some embroidery hoops at the thrift store, I knew just what I wanted my wreath to look like! I came home and got to work, and this cute embroidery hoop wreath was born!

Materials

2 Embroidery hoops, 12" and 9" in diameter
Floral fabric
2 colors of felt (I used pink and teal)
Twine
Scrapbook sticker letters
Scissors
Ruler & pen
Glue gun & glue sticks

Instructions

I started my wreath by smoothing my fabric out on the table that I wanted to go into the 9" hoop. I found this pretty floral fabric at Joann's, and I knew it was totally perfect! I loosened the hoop and took out the bigger of the two. I laid my fabric over the smaller hoop, and put the bigger hoop on top and pushed down so it'd keep the fabric tight and in place.

Once I smoothed the fabric out and pulled it completely tight, I tightened the hoop back up.

I turned the hoop upside down and cut around the fabric as close to the wood as possible so it wouldn't poke out the sides when hanging.

I set the fabric hoop aside, and started working on a little banner. I wanted it to say "hello," so I put a letter in the corner of my felt and drew a "flag" around it using my ruler and pen. I basically drew a rectangle, then found the center of the bottom and drew two lines up to meet it.

I cut it out and use it to trace the other flags along the felt.

Once they were all cut, I put on the letters. If they don't stick well, you could use just a dot of hot glue.

I flipped them over and using my hot glue gun, I folded the very top part of the felt over and glued the felt inside.

I then positioned my smaller hoop inside the bigger hoop where I wanted it, and used some hot glue to attach them together. I off centered them a tad for visual interest. I also made sure the tightening mechanism was facing down, since I knew I'd be covering it with flowers.

I tied on the banner to each side of the 12" hoop, also at an angle.

How to Make Felt Rosettes

It still needed a little something, so I made some felt rosettes to match.

1. Start by tracing circles onto felt. I traced 2 cd's and a bigger bowl.

2. Cut inside your circle, going around and keeping a half inch edge. I like to scallop mine a bit to give the rosette some more dimension.

3. Once you've cut to the center, it'll look like a spiral.

4. Start on the inside of your cut circle, and begin rolling the felt around itself. I add a little hot glue periodically as I go to make sure it stays together.

5. Keep rolling your fabric until you come to the end.

6. Add a dab of hot glue to the very end, and you're done!
