I love creating home decor that's easy and beautiful - and affordable! This fun project meets all three of those requirements!

It all starts with coffee. I know, that sounds silly, right? I used this same method to make my coffee-stained wood tiered tray. I love the look it gives without having to tediously stain each individual piece using a wood stain.

The only drawback to this method is that you have to plan ahead. Unfortunately, this isn't a craft project you can make in one day since the pins need to soak overnight.

This isn't my first clothespin project - they're such a versatile (and inexpensive!) item to use in crafting. Be sure to check out my clothespin craft DIY basket.

Clothes Pin Wreath Materials: faux greenery, wreath form, glue gun, clothes pins.

    • 18 inch wire wreath form
    • wire cutters
    • 3 packages of clothespins (Dollar Tree has them for 36 per package)
    • Hot Glue Gun/ Glue Sticks
    • Coffee pods or coffee
    • Tray to let the clothespins soak in the coffee
    • faux white Magnolia flower
    • Faux greens: I used fig and eucalyptus

    📝Instructions

Here's how to make a clothespin wreath:

    1. Brew the coffee. (I reused coffee pods from this morning's coffee).

    2. Place the clothespins into the tray and top with coffee. All the pins to soak overnight.

How to dye clothes pins with coffee: clothes pins in a large pan of coffee water.

    3. The next day, remove the pins from the coffee soak and allow them to dry completely.

How to make a wreath with clothes pins: clothes pins clipped to a wreath base.

    4. Start by opening a clothespin and clipping it onto the first and second wire sections. Then, the next pin you only clip the first part of the clothespin onto the second wire section.

Repeat this alternating pattern until you have the entire wreath covered. This will use all of the clothespins from the 3 packages.

How to make a floral Clothes Pin Wreath: glue gun attaching a flower stem to the wreath.

    5. Use wire cutters to cut down the stems of your greenery.

    6. Hot glue the stems to the wreath where you would like them. I placed the eucalyptus stems first. Then I placed the flower and tucked the fig stems into place. There's no right or wrong way!

That's all there is to it! I really love how this simple clothespin wreath turned out. It's an elegant but rustic wreath that's easily customized.

    Variations

It's always fun to make a craft your own! Instead of using coffee to stain the clothes pins, you could also use white paint. I suggest acrylic paint for best results.

This would also be pretty with a bit of burlap ribbon or cross grain ribbon bows.

    ⭐ Tips

To speed up the drying process, arrange the clothes pins on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Put them in a 200F oven for 2 hours.
