It’s fair season here, and when I think of the fair, I immediately dream of cotton candy! Cotton candy is a delicious treat, but it can be a little hard to enjoy at home. Instead, you can use these four ingredients to make this delightful cotton candy fudge!

My grandmother's classic Old Fashioned Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge is about the only fudge I usually make or eat. However, I'm making an exception for this gorgeously swirled Cotton Candy Fudge - also known as Unicorn Fudge! Truth be told, this is really not true fudge, but a shortcut recipe.

In fact, the part that takes the longest is just waiting for the fudge to set up in the refrigerator for 3 long hours. You might like to check out these Unicorn Arts and Crafts for Kids or easy Unicorn Popcorn recipe while you wait.

    🧂 Ingredients

    • White chocolate chips or melting wafers
    • Sweetened condensed milk
    • Cotton candy extract
    • Pink and blue food coloring

This is meant to be a brief overview of the cotton candy fudge recipe. For step-by-step instructions and a full printable recipe card with ingredients, please scroll down to the teal box below.

    🔪Instructions

    1. Line an 8-inch square baking dish with aluminum foil.
    2. In a microwave-safe bowl, stir together the white chocolate and condensed milk. Place in microwave for 90 seconds and let sit for a minute.
    3. Stir well to combine the melted chocolate and condensed milk.
    4. Add the cotton candy extract.
    5. Spoon out about 3 tablespoon of fudge or so into a separate bowl.
    6. Spoon an additional 3 tablespoon of fudge or so into another separate bowl.
    7. Add the blue food coloring to one bowl and combine.
    8. Add the pink food coloring to one bowl and combine.
    9. Spread the white fudge into the prepared pan.
    10. Drop spoonfuls of both colors of fudge onto the white fudge.
    11. Run a knife through the fudge to swirl the colors together to get the desired effect you are looking for.
    12. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours to firm.
    13. Cut into pieces and serve.

    📖 Variations

We always recommend that you make the recipe just as it is written the first time you try it as that is how we have tested it. However, if you wish to get creative, here are some ideas. (Please note, we have not tried these different ways to make cotton candy fudge).

Not that it needs it, but if you wanted to take this cotton candy fudge to the next level, you could add some fun unicorn sprinkles to the top just after you're done swirling the colors together.

    Holidays and Parties

If you are having a themed party, you can also switch up the colors to match. Here are a few ideas:

    • Halloween party: Use yellow and orange frosting along with pumpkin spice flavoring. It would look beautiful on a Halloween charcuterie board.
    • Christmastime: Along with red and green frosting, use peppermint extract. You could even sprinkle some crushed peppermint candies on top.
    • Valentine's Day: Grab some pink and red frosting and some strawberry or raspberry flavoring.
    • St. Patrick's Day: Green and white frosting and mint flavoring along with some shamrock sprinkles would be cute.

You get the idea, right? The combinations are endless!

    🍴 Serving Suggestions

This easy fudge is an excellent dessert to serve at a birthday party, a gender real party, or during the holidays with your family.

Unicorn fudge is a great crowd-pleaser and tastes just like the type of cotton candy you’d get from a fair or carnival but in fudge form! This delicious treat is something your whole family will love, and you will have everyone asking for seconds.

To make this easy fudge, you will need measuring spoons and mixing bowls, along with a 9x9 or 8x8 square baking dish. I find a whisk works well to combine the fudge and a rubber spatula is helpful for getting it into the pan.

    ⏲️ Storage
