I got to thinking one day... why not make cinnamon rolls in a waffle maker?

    Why not, indeed.

These are our new favorite thing - EVER!

Let's face it, these waffles are pretty decadent, even for brunch. In fact, these babies are probably in the dessert category really! (Imagine them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!) But for Easter or maybe a birthday, this is a fun and special treat.

You're going to love this decadent cinnamon roll waffle recipe!

    Instructions

You literally only need two simple ingredients for this recipe!

    • Store-bought Cinnamon Rolls
    • Cooking Spray

Yes, that's really all you need! This isn't so much a recipe as a tutorial on how to make cinnamon rolls in waffle maker.

A baking dish with cinnamon roll dough sits on a table with a package of rolls and a blue and white checked towel.

For a list of some of my favorite items to use when cooking, and why I chose them, please visit my Kitchen Resource page.

Two cinnamon waffles on a plate with a cut strawberry on a Friendly Village china plate set on top of a blue and white checked cloth.

    Instructions

    1. First, remove the frozen cinnamon rolls and place them in a dish the night before.
    2. Then, cover and refrigerate overnight.
    3. In the morning, remove the rolls from the fridge. They should have doubled in size.
    4. Next, heat the waffle maker to medium heat.
    5. Generously spray both sides of the waffle maker.
    6. Using your fingers, gently pull one of the rolls out of the dish and flatten it slightly with your hand.
    7. Put the cinnamon roll dough into the waffle maker and close it.
    8. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown.
    9. Remove from the waffle maker carefully.

How do you keep waffles warm?

Making the these waffles does take a little time, so here's a tip on how to keep them warm.  Once you're done with a couple of cinnamon rolls in the waffle maker, place them in the oven to keep warm.  This is what I do: add a cooling rack on top of a large sheet pan and lay the waffles out. Set the oven to warm and place the trays in the oven.

    Serving Suggestions

Instead of the icing, serve your cinnamon roll waffles with brown sugar butter, maple butter, or cinnamon honey butter and a drizzle of maple syrup.
