My Best Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe is simple to make, has only four ingredients and is delicious on carrot cupcakes.

cream cheese frosting on a whisk attachment

To me, cream cheese frosting is one of those recipes you need to have committed to memory. The tangy creamy cheese perfectly offsets the sweetness creating the perfect frosting recipe - in my humble opinion!

This is the frosting I used on my Best Carrot Cupcake Recipe and Pomegranate Cupcakes. You can also use it on Apple Carrot Bread.

    Ingredients

    • cream cheese
    • unsalted butter
    • vanilla extract
    • powdered sugar

    Instructions

This recipe will make enough frosting for a 13x9 cake or 24 cupcakes.

    1. Add room temperature cream cheese and butter in a large mixing bowl and beat until creamy and smooth
    2. Gradually add powdered sugar, a little at a time until it is all incorporated.
    3. Next, add vanilla extract and beat until smooth.
