I just love the way these Printable Advent Tags look with printable glitter paper.  It gives them a very elegant touch that is just perfect for the holidays. Twinkling Christmas lights pick up the glitter and really make my Advent packages sparkle!

Items you will need to make Printable Advent Calendar Numbers - scissors, a hole punch, advent tags, twine and glitter inkjet paper.

The paper is a great way to personalize gifts with pretty gift tags, or handmade cards. I wanted a way to dress up our Advent project. I created some lovely Advent Countdown Tags first. I'll admit that I think they're pretty great the way they are. But printing them on glitter paper takes them to a whole other level!

    Creating Holiday Traditions

We plan to use our tags on wrapped books. The kids will get to open one gift each day leading up to Christmas.

Now, before you think I'm nuts, here's how we do it. I do purchase some new books, but we have been collecting Christmas books for years. I pull the books out of storage and wrap them up.

After the kids are ready for bed with teeth brushed and all that good stuff, they can each open the package with that day's date on it.

This project really couldn't be more simple to do. Here's what you'll need:

    • Inkjet Printable Glitter Paper
    • Inkjet Printer
    • Scissors
    • Hole Punch
    • String, Twine or Ribbon
    • Optional: Paper Punches in various shapes and sizes

I used a Champagne colored glitter paper that is now discontinued. However, you can find white versions such as "white diamond" or "white glitter" online.

    📝Instructions

This is meant to be a brief overview of how to make this Printable Advent Calendar Numbers project. For step-by-step instructions and a full printable tutorial with materials, please scroll down to the teal box below.

The first thing you'll need to do is download the Printable Advent Tags. Fill out the form below for instant download:

Next, load the glitter paper into your inkjet printer and print.

Image contains 3 sheets of glitter paper with Advent Calendar Numbers. Text reads: Step 1: Print the Advent Coutdown Tags on Glitter Paper!

Cut out all the tags. I used scissors for some of the shapes. Then, to add a bit more character, I used different paper punches for some of the others.

I love how the mismatched set still looks coordinated together!

Close up image of a calendar number and the text reads, Step 2: Cut out the tags using scissors & paper punches.

Finally, punch a hole in the tags and add the string, bakers twine or ribbon. Now you're ready to use your Advent Countdown Tags!

Woman using a hole punch to add a hole for string. Text reads, Step 3: punch a whole for the string.

For our countdown book tradition, I printed two sets of tags (one for each child). I can't wait to see their faces when we bring out their little 'Christmas Tree' of books with these printable Advent tags!

      🖨️ Tips for Printing

      • Select the highest print quality under your printer settings.
      • Check that the printer is not running low on ink.
      • These printables use a lot of ink so take care removing them from the printer so as not to smudge them.

Printer recommendation: I have used Canon printers for many years, and now have the Pixma TS series, which works wonderfully! This model is simple to use and produces good quality.
