    Busy Moms Survival Guide

More Our Busy Moms Survival Guide is a must for women trying to do "all the things" every day!

In this Busy Moms Survival Guide, I have specific tips that you can use today to simplify your day-to-day life.

Get dinner on the table fast! Menu planning ideas and free printables from jugglingactmama
Get dinner on the table fast by planning ahead!!

The entire Busy Moms Survival Guide is based on one concept - PLAN AHEAD!  I can’t overstate this.  Planning ahead means planning out your meals ahead of time and shopping for all the ingredients.  Because of they busy schedule we have with school, activities, and work, I try always to have a few shortcut items in my fridge.

For instance, on Sundays, I make a box of pasta and throw it in the fridge.  I can add it to soup, make a mini pasta salad for my daughter’s lunchbox, or serve it warm with veggies as a side dish.

Use time-saving services.  I use deliveries services to save time and money.  Getting monthly deliveries for staples I use all the time is a must for busy moms.  I also shop online and use the pick-up service my local grocery store offers. Nothing “falls” into my cart and I don’t have to drag the kids through the store!

Prep cook on the weekends. Washing and chopping produce is a huge time saver for me.  I use plastic food storage containers and label them. For instance, I use onions almost daily, so mincing up a couple and putting them in a container means when I want to assemble my recipe, I just need to measure them out and keep moving.

Take short cuts.  I am a big fan of semi-homemade recipes.  While I love being in the kitchen, I don’t have time to make everything from scratch.  Rotisserie chickens are a great example because you can do so much with them. My grocery store has some vegetables precut.  When I need a little red cabbage, I buy it already chopped. It saves time, and the chances of my family eating a whole head before it goes bad is slim.

Double up and make ahead. When we are making something time-consuming like homemade meatballs, we double or even triple the recipe.  The extras go into the freezer and can be pulled out as needed. You can do the same with simple ingredients, too like taco meat and grilled chicken.

Get Organized. I adore these containers for my refrigerator and pantry! they help keep things so organized! When everything has a place, life is so much easier.

Use time-saving appliances. A good Slow Cooker or Instant Pot will save you tons of time and energy in the kitchen. Visit my Slow Cooker resource page for tons of info, including mouthwatering easy meals you can make in your slow cooker.

Take advantage of online grocery shopping. It's so simple and easy.  I most often use either Hannaford-to-Go or Walmart Grocery Pick Up. I hate dragging my kids through the store, and online shopping means no one adds stuff to the cart we don't really need.

    Save Money and Time

One of the money-saving tips I use is to look for meat that is on sale or discounted because it needs to be used right away.  I pop it in the freezer and then use it in slow cooker meals where I don’t need to worry about defrosting it first. It saves me both time and money.
